Flashlights

The flashlight has long since been a common tactical tool for law enforcement and the military; both as a handheld device or weapon-mounted.

In Civvy Street it is basic piece of survival equipment, which is legal to carry everywhere and totally portable. However, it is considered more for its mundane use than for its role in self defence.

The primary purpose of a flashlight is to see in the dark. While this is self-evident it frequently gets lost in discussions of blinding attackers and identifying targets. Shining a flashlight into potential hiding places or danger areas is a demonstration of active awareness. Since surprise is a key element in many attacks, active awareness will solve some problems before they even arise.  Impairing an attacker’s vision is the next self-defence option with a strobe flashlight but furthermore, those designed with a scalloped bezel can be used for striking an assailant.

Viper’s flashlights
have been developed with high-intensity LED bulbs; 160 lumens or more. The varying light modes [high, low, strobe and SOS], means all individual requirements can be fulfilled.  The use of ‘C’ cell batteries makes the body of the lights thinner, as well as reducing the weight. The body of the flashlights are made from aircraft aluminium which makes them light and virtually indestructible.

As well as offering a range of handheld flashlights, Viper also supplies weapon mounted flashlights; specific models are coupled with high-end laser sights. To round off the range a military-grade green laser is available, which has a range of 2000m.
